VERMELL
A rarity: 100% Red Xarel.lo.
At Can Descregut we were pioneers in 2006 in producing a wine with this almost extinct variety.
Red Xarel·lo (also known as pink Xarel·lo) is a genetic mutation of white Xarel·lo. It is a very rare grape variety. They are old vineyards, over fifty years old, that produce few grapes but with better concentration. The difference is that it has a red and thicker skin, which if harvested when well ripe gives us more aromatic complexity.

Vinificació
Manual harvest. Cold skin maceration for 10 hours, seeking to extract aromas and a little color. Static settling of the must at 14ºC and alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeast prior to the vat. Aged in stainless steel tanks with its fine lees for 7 months, with periodic batonnage.
Nota de tast
It has an orange-yellow color resulting from the maceration of the skins. It has a low aromatic intensity, but is delicate and highly complex: it presents white fruit (apple and pear), citrus, smoky notes, earthy and mushroom notes, and a hint of red strawberry very typical of the variety thanks to the tannins. In the mouth it has breadth, a smooth, silky and elegant finish on a mineral background. Persistent and salty aftertaste.
